Jennifer Gordon

Cultural Resources Manager

Jennifer Gordon is a cultural anthropologist and ethnographer with over 30 years of experience working with Tribal communities and government offices.

Ms. Gordon graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Rutgers University and a Master of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Oklahoma. Her graduate degree research focused on media and identity among the Lakota on the Pine Ridge Reservation, and a case study of socio-economic effects among the Navajo living in the Bennett Freeze Area on the Navajo Reservation. While a doctoral graduate student at Arizona State University (ASU), she taught undergraduate coursework as a Faculty Associate through the School of Letters & Sciences and acted as Undergraduate Academic Advisor for the School of Evolution & Social Change (SHESC). Ms. Gordon remained at ASU as Academic Success Coordinator for undergraduates in the School of Politics & Global Studies, and she served in leadership positions on the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Dean’s Advisory Council and the University Staff Council.

She currently maintains Faculty Adjunct status through SHESC at ASU. Ms. Gordon was hired in 2015 as an ethnographer, tribal liaison, and subject matter expert in cultural resource management (CRM). During her time at Environmental Planning Group (EPG)/Terracon Consultants, she managed projects and field crews in compliance with federal and state historic preservation laws and regulations, including Section 106 of NHPA and NEPA. Ms. Gordon is also a trained archaeologist, meeting the Secretary of the Interior qualifications.
