Real Property Manager

Leon Porter serves as the Real Property Manager on the Project Development team for Southwestern Power Group and leads our Right of Way acquisition. He has helped lead and develop strategies for reroutes, mitigation and land right-of-way since 2008. His relationship in working with landowners, local, state and federal agencies, and negotiating and securing easements for the RioSol Transmission lines, which has been instrumental in moving the RioSol Transmission Project forward. Leon also boasts a lengthy teaching and administrative career in higher education institutions and served as Chief Operating Officer for Navajo Housing before entering the energy industry. He resides with his family on his ranch near Corona, New Mexico.
